Abstract
The chance of accidents involving emergency vehicles is four times greater than that of other motorised traffic. In emergency rides the accident risk is even eight times greater. In this note, it is investigated how these risks can be reduced. Attention is not only paid to the drivers of emergency rides, but also to other factors such as the number of emergency calls, arrival times of emergency vehicles, organisation, and vehicle control by the installation of a data recorder.
