Abstract

Five groups of citybus drivers- three groups with different absence frequency, one group of partially disabled drivers who are now rehabilitated in a new job, and a group totally disabled (ex) drivers- -were selected. It is suggested that the busdriver's job plays an important role in the affection of health, It cannot be concluded from the data that certain coping-styles or social 'support are more effective in terms of positive effects on health and wellbeing. Absence seems to be an important indicator of vulnerability. An active and timely rehabilitation policy is recommended.
