Abstract

The implementation of the National Accident Sampling System is reviewed. Objectives are discussed in detail, including the production of national statistics and the planning needed to take advantage of the NASS in counter measure evaluation. The underlying design philosophy for NASS is discussed. Misconceptions that have arisen in the design stages of the system are identified and explained.
