Abstract

A pilot study is made to asses the functioning of the National Accident Sampling System (NASS) and to provide data for optimizing sample size and cost effectiveness. The measures of performance and effectiveness are presented with the rationale for their selection. The details of study data acquisition are given in conjunction with a description of the NASS structures.
