Abstract

The eight papers in this volume analyze accident data to address various questions concerning traffic accident injuries. The topics addressed include injury types, injury consequences, injury coding, passenger vehicle restraint performance, and crash severity measures. The principal accident data sources are the Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS), the National Crash Severity Study (NCSS), and the National Accident Sampling System (NASS).
