Abstract
The report presents a summary of progress made in the wide range of research project programmes since the inception of the NCHRP in 1962. The range of work covers twenty five areas and includes such general fields as: pavement design, construction and materials; soil mechanics and testing; traffic operations, planning and safety; bridges; winter and general maintenance; law; roadside development, illumination and safety; vehicle barriers; and environmental impact analysis.
