Abstract

The National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) has produced data which lead to national estimates of product associated injuries. This report presents the results of a study of the methods of data collection used by the NEISS and the uses made of such data. Two major areas for improvement of the NEISS are suggested. Alternatives to the numerical scales currently used are suggested.
