Abstract

Some of the results of the 1972 National Transportation study to assess the need and priorities for transportation capital funds are described. Results indicate that substantial funding is needed for urban public transportation in both the short and long term and that funding requirements vary widely between urban areas of different sizes and between urban areas of similar size.
