Abstract

This document summarizes the Conference of 8 and 9 April 1991 dealing with acute as well as chronic occupational musculoskeletal injuries. At first it gives definitions and anatomical structures of concern, followed by suspected occupational and non-occupational risk factors. Furthermore it pays attention to the needed fundamental research to understand the causes of these injuries and to provide the most effective prevention strategies. At last it gives a summary and recommendations, a list of conference and workshop participatns and major references.
