Abstract
The programmes of the Science Committee outlined in this Year Book have over the years demonstrated their dynamic appeal, which is due in no small measure to the quality of each activity, selected with remarkable fairness, wisdom and attention to detail by the Committee's Advisory and Special Programme Panels. Indeed, the value of these activities is illustrated by the fact that to be awarded a NATO grant is considered within the scientific community to be a recommendation in itself.
