Abstract

The purposes of this article are these: (1) to demonstrate the high rate of neck injury incurred in auto accidents by women in metropolitan regions, (2) to present data on the accident, time lost from work, onset and duration of symptoms, and their relation to litigation, and (3) to review some recent work by others on the pathological characteristics and prevention of whiplash injury.
