Abstract

As a result of work developing educational materials used in upgrading the background medical knowledge of driver licence examiners, considerable insight into the needs of both physicians and licensing agencies, as far as the driver is concerned, is gained. Some of the inconsistencies in the limits set in different states are pointed out, and it is shown that most physicians can not make adequate or logical judgement without better criteria.
