Abstract

This paper describes an investigation into the attitudes of users to an emergency system that could assist drivers in an impaired state. The drivers assessed were categorised as standard drivers, elderly, disabled, long distance and police drivers. The results of questionnaires covering driving behaviour, accident rate, alertness and need for driving aids are presented.
