Abstract

The Dutch organisation Initiatie/ Groep Wijs Op Weg (Travelling Wise) together with the Dutch branch of Friends of the Earth are coordinating studies into an environmentally friendly traffic and transport scenario. Three studies were carried out by the Technical University of Delft, the Free University in Amsterdam, and the University of Groningen, on trends in passenger transport from 1984 to the year 2010. This paper is based on the English summary of the final report: PEETERS, PM and VERMIJ, E "The Netherlands travelling clean: towards a trend breach in passenger transport", published by NOVEM in 1988.
