Abstract

When designing public transport systems, it often occurs that optimization of different quality elements at the same time leads to conflicting design demands. In each specific situation, a certain optimum has to be found between these conflicting demands. Such an optimum is called a design concept. The conflicts between quality elements are traced systematically.
