An SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) proxy method is applied to an AHS communication network including vehicles. In the computer simulation, the proxy model shows higher data communication reliability than a non-proxy reference model. SNMP command response in the proxy model is so speedy that the base station responds instead of the vehicles which are connected by the slow speed radio line. The network control station can monitor the communication status of the vehicles. A proper health check interval can be evaluated for communication errors due to the shadowing. One of the network management methods has been verified to contribute to a highly reliable AHS network. (A*)
