TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2197 contains 14 papers that explore the vehicle routing problem for emissions minimization; allocating departure time slots to optimize dynamic network capacity; optimal all-stop, short-turn, and express transit services under heterogeneous demand; railway capacity model and decision support process for strategic capacity planning; and bilevel programming model for minimum-cost travel time data collection with time windows. This issue of the TRR also examines a column generation method for the U.S. Army logistics air fleet scheduling, new modifications to bus network design, policy-making tool for transit priority optimization in an urban network, choosing the right express services for a bus corridor with capacity restrictions, train timetable optimizing and rescheduling based on an improved particle swarm algorithm, an algorithm for the crew-scheduling problem with bin-packing features, a calibrated labeling method for generating bicyclist route choice sets, bilevel highway route optimization, and a comparison of MATSim and EMME/2.
