Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2283 consists of 14 papers that explore heuristic scheme for heterogeneous vehicle routing problem; stochastic multicommodity emergency inventory management model; path-constrained traffic assignment; welfare effects of congestion pricing; stochastic model for estimation of time-varying arterial travel time; and an algorithm for intermodal optimal multidestination tour. This issue of the TRR also examines sensors for estimation of static origin-destination volumes; optimization of school locations in rural areas; predicting dynamic origin-destination matrices; distance-based dynamic pricing strategy for managed toll lanes; demand and supply calibration of dynamic traffic assignment models; minimum-cost dynamic routing policies in networks with link failures; dynamic traveling salesman problem for search-and-rescue application; and the user equilibrium traffic assignment problem.
