Abstract

This paper concerns the network-wide evaluation of VMS (Variable Message Sign) system performance being undertaken within the QUO VADIS project. A range of evaluation categories and performance indicators are described. These are being used to measure performance against strategic and operational aims for VMS. Automatic evaluation procedures are described which maximise the cost effectiveness of the evaluation process. (A)
