Abstract

This paper is prepared by the Information and Communications Technologies(ICT) university network consortium composed of 8 world class university institutions that describes the roles of Chief Information Officers (CIOs)for innovative Green Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) education toward Eco-mobility Society. In conjunction of the applications for innovations in ITS this study formed a research team of 8 universities and institutions 2 years ago with initiatives by Waseda University as a core of the network. The focus point of this research on the activities of CIOs for ITSis the issue on transformation of an innovative service platform for Green ITS education under the Eco-mobility Society. The author concludes that core competencies in CIOs for ITS are of prime importance to the development of innovative solutions in various levels of ITS. There are lots of common issues among countries of member institutions on their activities of implementing both engineering and socio-economic programs, especially for strategic plan and contents of services and application prepared for Green ITS. We have been working together and will continue to work on educating innovative policy issues of Green ITS in the Eco-mobility society.
