A new approach for analysis on intersection accidents.

Abstract

An approach developed to facilitate the identification of accident occurrence with the Intersection Zone is described.The zone was divided into 5 sections and accidents located according to the placement of the vehicle (s) vix, approach, centre of departure.The distance of link accidents from the intersection were also recorded. 80% of all accidents occurred within 100 feet of intersections and 63% of all accidents occurred within the intersection.
