Abstract

Ensuring sustainable development in the road transport sector will only be feasible if issues such as the rarefaction of fossil energy sources and reduction of gas emissions are controlled, while continuing to respond in the best way to the desire and needs for mobility. Achieving these objectives requires implementation of new concepts and new technological solutions. This session will present prospective views on various key subjects: future of energy sources; evolution of motorisation and vehicle emissions; new possibilities for road operations through the use of satellite positioning technology and on-board units. For the covering abstract see ITRD E139491.
