Abstract

A through study of Australian and overseas experience of advertising in the road reserve, with particular attention to safety issues, indicates that traffic safety is not evidently affected by advertising in the vicinity of the road, though certain controls are still appropriate. The Road and Traffic Authority has planned a small number of demonstrations and advertising billboards along the freeways to bring road safety messages to the drivers.
