This document presents a brief summary of the results of the report New Market Oriented Transport Systems. All the measures and development examples in this report correspond with the major objectives of European policy, namely: a) improvement of the present environmental situation, b) safe-guarding of economic processes and c) safe-guarding of a "European way of urban planning and development". Therefore this report presents opportunities which could help to influence the European traffic market with innovative measures concerning the transportation of people and goods. The influencing of the market does not imply a legitimisation of any legal regulations. The report only gives hints of how to support concepts and systems which fulfil the demands of the transport market and moreover the requirements of its participants. (A)
