Abstract

The available side impact dummies were evaluated and it was concluded that none of the dummy was acceptable. Therefore a new side impact dummy was built. The ONSER made the pelvis. The specifications for this pelvis simulation model are presented. The design of the hip joint and the use of deformable materials to simulate the pelvic bone deformation are discussed.
