Abstract
This Code of Practice covers all aspects of inspections determined under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, as well as matters not covered by specific legislative requirements. Sections are provided on: a) inspections and investigatory works; b) reinstatement defects; c) inadequacies in signing, guarding and lighting; d) financial arrangements, (e) performance and (f) guidance for disputes in relation to the Street Works (Inspection Fees) Regulations England 2002. This edition of the guide applies to England only, with Scotland and Wales still using the 1992 regulations The Code of Practice came into effect on 1st October 2002.
