Abstract

The project COREM (COmputer Supported REsource Management for the Transport of Unit Loads) aims at the improvement of the road/sea interface in intermodal transport by introducing and supporting new ways and procedures for operational cooperation. Demonstrators for improved cooperative resource management within and between companies will be developed, validated and demonstrated in Germany and Greece, also making existing application systems "cooperative". The COREM approach leads to increased efficiency, reduction in time and money and decreased traffic volume, creating the possibilities for offering improved customer services by smoothing the road/sea interface. The COREM project is co-funded by the Telematics Application Programme of the European Commission's Directorate for Telecommunications (DG XIII). (A)
