Abstract

Almost all major junctions in cities, town and villages in India are being implemented with traffic signals. These implementations take more time due to reasons like permission from local authority, road cutting, traffic diversions etc. The usual way of controlling the signal lamps at a road intersection is by connecting copper cable between the traffic controller equipment and signal heads. This requires more money, time and manpower. This paper proposes a novel concept of controlling the road traffic signal without physical connection between traffic controller equipment and signal lamps. Solar power is also considered for traffic controller and signal lamps.
