Abstract

The functions and utility of head protective devices in the prevention of injuries are being studied in an ongoing research project for the purpose of developing more comprehensive bases and criteria for the design, testing, use and performance standards for such devices. The potentials of head injuries are discussed. The existing standards and testing methods are considered.
