Abstract

A stability analysis of the steady state straight line downhill motion of a tractor-semitrailer vehicle is given. In order to have, basically, also asymptotically stable motions of the system an active driver (controller) has to be included in the system. Using the methods of bifurcation theory a nonlinear stability analysis of the controlled system tractor-semitrailer-driver is given.
