Abstract

The Mobility Policy Document opens with a general vision of traffic and transport (section 1), followed by descriptions of the policy for the various types of mobility: road traffic (2), public transport, rail and bicycle (3), aviation (4) and shipping (5). Mobility has an impact on safety and the living environment; the policy for handling negative effects is given in sections 6 and 7. Finally, section 8 contains the financial details. Each of the policy sections sketches the situation (i.e. the problems we will face without supplemental policy), the ambitions of the cabinet, the strategy required to achieve the ambitions and the measures planned by central government, decentral government, business and industry and other parties. The policy sections end with an overview of the most important items that the state plans to realise by 2020. For the Dutch version see http://www.vananaarbeter.nl/NotaMobiliteit/
