Abstract
This paper comments on the conclusions of Evans et al. (see PA, Vol. 79:1995) in their article on the effects of 7 types of state laws on alcohol-related motor vehicle fatalities. Detailed consideration of the methods used and results obtained by Evans et al. confirms that the state-pairs appraoch, used by Zador et al. (1989) in their study on the same subject, is more successful.
