Abstract

In Japan it is estimated that 95% of all learner drivers, learn to drive in approved driving schools. Three types of training and education are given: driving tuition from a qualified instructor; knowledge education making use of audio visual teaching materials; and a driving aptitude test. A retraining system was also introduced in 1986 for new drivers who had committed a certain number of driving offences. The french title of this paper is `l'Éducation des conducteurs novices dans les auto-écoles'. The german title of this paper is `Ausbildung von Führerschein-neulingen an Fahrschulen'.
