Abstract

The evolution process of nocturnal radiation fog and lower stratocumulus, and their effect on the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) are discussed in this paper. The discussion is based on the results of a model calculation. The model takes into account the long- wave radiation fluxes of both liquid water and water vapor.
