Abstract
The analysis of truck accidents showed the annual occur-...ring of 500 fatal, 300 life-threatening and 600 severeinjuries of occupants at the front-end of trucks in theFederal Republic. 130 Pedestrians, cyclists and driversof motor-scooters erere killed by the rear-axle overrun-ning them after they had collided with the high truck bo-dy between the axles. A cost benefit analysis of appro-priate safety devices is presented.
