Abstract
In general for the risk of detection police enforcement produces three effects: a preventive, a regressive and a repressive effect. After discussing these effects, the collective and individual risk of detection, the objective and subjective aspects, the subjective individual risk of detection, and ways and means of influencing traffic behaviour are given.
