Abstract

A driver's view of traffic sign or signal may be observed by the presence of other vehicles. The degree of obscuration, the subject of the research described here, will vary through both time and distance, and with the following major factors: (1) size, location and frequency of signs and signals (2) geometric features of the road and (3) characteristics of the traffic streams.
