Abstract

A new method of observing young cyclists' behaviour as they participate in traffic is developed. It allows a more complete description of the cycling behaviour while unnoticed. For this, a video camera and recorder were mounted on a normal cycle to enable following observations of children in various ages. After a series of manoeuvres lasting a couple of minutes the young cyclists were asked to stop and to answer a few questions.
