Abstract

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), two million UK employees suffer from a work-related illness. The highest incidence of absence is caused by minor musculoskeletal injuries. This article asserts that transport managers must manage absence and mitigate risk. This short article discusses the prevention of accidents in order to mitigate the risk of injury and illness, to reduce levels of absence from work.
