Abstract

Chapter I gives a general overview of the industry to illustrate the size and complexity of the occupational safety and health problems which are faced. Chapter II relates the statistical information available to the causes of road accidents. Chapter III, which considers the nature of road transport work and the occupational risks faced by various categories of workers, covers topics such as fatigue, noise and vibration, transportation of dangerous materials and the hazards faced while loading and unloading. Preventive measures are given in Chapter IV.
