Since 1968 the Road Research Programme of the OECD has been concerned with providing a substantive scientific and technological basis for governmental decision- making on the most urgent road transport problems. One of the first studies conducted within the Road Research Program was directed toward identification of major countermeasures available for pedestrian safety
