Abstract

The OECD Workshop on Knowledge-Based Expert Systems in Transportation was organized by the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) and OECD. Thirteen OECD Member countries and one non-member country participated. Working experience with knowledge-based expert systems technology provided the context in which the workshop was held. The workshop consisted of five sessions: Session I on Developing Expert Systems, Session II on Traffic Monitoring and Control, Session III on Traffic Impact Evaluation, Session IV on Highway Analysis and Planning, and Session V on Highway Management. For details of papers presented at the conference see abstracts C 1174-1194 and for the abstract of volume II see C 1195.
