Abstract

The next decades car ownership may show a strong growth, which is partly caused by an assumed growth of real national personal income. This growth depends on the assumptions which have been made in relation to economic variables such as the oil price-development. In the long term, especially with a high economic growth, a strong increase in oil prices is expected, as a result of which car use may descend sharply.
