Abstract

In the introduction a stand is made against traffic as a rest-factor, as pure utility. Traffic can have a more fundamental meaning in personal life. In middle-sized cities, this fundamental meaning can be regained. Some data of counts of travellers at one moment on the road are given. The method of observation is explained. The use of these counts is discussed. At the end, the necessity is emphasized to approach city traffic from another point of view than pure utility.
