Abstract

The main purpose of the research is the determination of the passenger car unit (PCU) values for articulated and non-articulated trucks on horizontal uninterrupted two-way single carriageways without bends under full capacity conditions in the Netherlands. The motivation of the research is the idea that the mostly used values of the Highway Capacity Manual 1965 differ from those under the Dutch circumstances of today. It is concluded that the values are respectively 12% and 35% lower.
