Abstract

On highways without cycle tracks the chance to get an accident is mostly always higher than on highways with a separate cycle track. On highways with a cycle track only at one side the width of the hard shoulder between the highway and the cycle track is more important than the sith of cycle track. Further relations between the characteristics of highway and traffic and the safety for bicycles and mopeds are also discussed.
