Abstract

The 80 km /h highways show a big variety and use. The number of accidents per motor vehicle kilometre is greater than on other roads outside built up areas. Research should be done to set up countermeasures by which traffic safety on these highways can be improved. On the hand of the number of accidents a quantitative comparison is made of categories of road sections and junctions. See also B 31407, 31475 and 31476.
