Abstract

Efa (Elektronische Fahrplanauskunft) is the electronic timetable information system used by about 40 public transport communities in germany, austria and switzerland. A new data transmission protocol has now been developed and implemented on the ISDN system, so that anyone who has a home-PC with windows software and an ISDN card can get online information from every information server. Information about actual traffic problems is included in the computation. This paper describes the system configuration and system protocol.
