The relation of the irregularity of working hours, the quality of sleep, and fatigue during work and leisure time, is studied in the case of 111 bus drivers in the city of Groningen, netherlands. A self-report scale for the quality of sleep is used. In the case of the bus drivers it is the morning shift in which sleeping complaints develop, independently of the general level of complaints reported by a driver. A relation is shown between sleeping complaints and fatigue during work and leisure time. (Author/publisher)
