Two behavioural training methods to teach young cyclists (9 /10 year olds) priority rules and behavioural rules were developed, and evaluated in terms of knowledge and traffic behaviour. One training method is developed along the lines of the sociallearning theory (in particular the modeling principle). The other training method is based upon the Adaptive Control of Thought (ACTg) theory of J.R. Anderson. The results show that knowledge lessons increase the level of knowledge as measured by the knowledge test. However, this is not a long lasting effect.
